The Problem
sweetFrog UX Survey - 24 participants
Extensive 42 question survey gathering information about users’ experiences using sweetFrog’s mobile and desktop site to perform different tasks, the devices they prefer to use for this type of experience, and what they expect on sites similar to this.
Usability testing - 6 participants - Video Call ( FaceTime)
Task #1: You’re craving some frozen yogurt. Visit sweetfrog.com to find out what seasonal frozen yogurts are sold at sweetFrog locations near you.
Task #2: You want to order catering for a birthday party. Visit sweetfrog.com to put in a catering order from your nearest sweetFrog.
Figma, Adobe Photoshop
Users are curious about the flavor selection but have to jump through hoops to see what’s available near them.
Flavors & toppings are harder to navigate because they’re not clearly labelled or categorized.
Finding any information forces users to repeat the same steps over and over again.
sweetFrog doesn’t prioritize clarity or efficiency in its flavor viewing and online ordering process.
The Solution (prototype)
I remade the mobile ordering process from the cup selection to the topping selection as that was where there was the most confusion and frustration.
As you can see, you can scroll to see the entire flavor and topping selection of that store (note that each store will have a much smaller selection of flavors) and also implemented a much needed search function and filtering system for both.
